Child Health Research Group Recruit First Patient to NIHR CONTRACT 2 Trial

The Northern Ireland Clinical Research Network Child Health are recruiting to the  CONTRACT 2 trial, the team wasted no time,  recruiting their first participant within 10 days of opening.

CONservative TReatment of Appendicitis in Children or CONTRACT 2 is a randomised controlled trial which compares a non-operative treatment pathway with appendicectomy for children with simple acute appendicitis.

The trial is sponsored by NIHR and led by the University of Southampton.
