WHSCT Stroke Research Team over recruit to Global Clinical Research Trial ENRICH-AF

The Clinical Research Network Stroke team based at South West Acute Hospital (SWAH) have smashed their recruitment target for the ENRICH- AF trial – Edoxaban for Intra-Cranial Haemorrhage Survivors with Atrial Fibrillation.
ENRICH-AF is a randomised controlled trial with the objective to evaluate whether Edoxaban is superior to standard medical therapy in reducing the risk of stroke in high-risk atrial fibrillation patients with previous intracranial haemorrhage. The study is sponsored by the Population Health Research Institute (PHRI), Canada and there are 238 recruiting sites worldwide with 811 participants recruited to the trial.
The Western Health and Social Care Team based at SWAH led by Primary Investigator Dr Breffini Keegan had an original target of 3 patients and have recruited 4 so far with a 5th patient lined up.
