NICRN Renal team celebrates World Kidney Day in RVH foyer

On Thursday 12 March our Renal team celebrated World Kidney Day!

Once again, the NICRN Renal research team had the opportunity to share a pop-up display with NIKRF (Northern Ireland Kidney Research Fund) in the foyer of Royal Victoria Hospital.

We had a dialysis machine on display (always sure to attract people’s attention) as well as posters highlighting our current studies – and of course some nice freebies.

It was a great day of networking with colleagues from NIKRF, talking to other researchers, meeting specialist organ donation staff and of course having lots of conversations with the public. It is amazing how many people have close family or friends who have had contact with our renal service at some point or other. It was good to be able to share information about how we deliver renal care and some of the very important research being carried out in N Ireland.

The day also clearly highlighted the wonderful teamwork going on across the province as we all work for the benefit of renal patients and their families through our different roles and different platforms.
