NICRN in BHSCT awarded with Take 5 Workplace accreditation

On the 17th of June, our NICRN workforce within Belfast Trust were awarded the Take 5 Workplace accreditation for the promotion of staff health and wellbeing. At a celebration event at Belfast Castle the Northern Ireland Clinical Research Network (NICRN) were presented with accreditation certificates after successfully participating in the latest Take 5 Workplace programme which began in September 2025. Our NICRN team and the Radiology team at the NI Cancer Centre are the first 2 departments in BHSCT to Implement Take 5 and receive accreditation.
NICRN were asked to present a case study at the celebration as an example of the steps our organisation has taken to implement Take 5 into our day-to-day practice.

We are delighted to have been Take 5 accredited and we do really feel that this is only the beginning and plan to keep up the momentum of these events and bringing our colleagues together.
Special thanks to all our NICRN colleagues, to our Senior Management team for promoting staff wellbeing, and our Take 5 Champions for really taking the lead in spreading the Take 5 message and organising events, as well as the health promotion team for the support, and advice we have received when linking in. It’s great what the BHSCT has to offer via BWELL and Here4you activities. It would be amazing if Take 5 could be implemented into more departments in the BHSCT in the future.
