Congratulations to the NHSCT DIA team for completing REDEFINE final visit!!

Congratulations to our NHSCT Diabetes team, including PI Anna Strzelecka, and research nurses Moyra McMaster and Natalie Hanley, for completing their last patient’s final visit on the REDEFINE Novo-Nordisk study. Initially recruited in August 2023, this final visit marks the end of all visits worldwide for the study.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect and safety of a medicine called CagriSema in people living with obesity or type 2 diabetes. This will be compared against a placebo.

This has the potential to become a new preferable option in the treatment of obesity.

The total study duration for each participant was roughly 78 weeks, making it pretty intense and taking up a lot of capacity.

NHSCT was the only trust in NI running REDFINE 2. And successfully reached target, recruiting 11 patients with a recruitment target percentage of 122%.
