Our NI Clinical Research network (NICRN) Director Prof. Jonathan Jackson attended the ‘Creating a Research and Evidence Partnership Stakeholder Workshop’ in May. The event was hosted by the NI Social Care Council (NISCC). With the aim of building new research relationships and networks.

There were over 50 attendees at the event, held at the NI Social Care Council at James house, Belfast. The purpose of the event was to engage with existing stakeholders and encourage open and constructive dialogue with new stakeholders, organisations and individuals. The focus of the event was the future for NISCC and the strategic social work and social care research agenda. Emphasis was on extending relationships and collaborative working, NICRN director Professor Jonathan Jackson attended as a key note speaker.

The aim  of the event was to establish a Research Evidence Partnership as a Committee of the Social Care Council’s Board. The Partnership will be chaired by Professor Davy Hayes, Queen’s University, a member of the Social Care Council Board. During the event there was a  discussion on  the purpose, scope and membership of a Research Evidence Partnership, capturing a range of views, ideas and suggestions. Together these views will help  inform the development of a  Partnership.

An exciting development for the research community in NI and our social care colleagues.
