NHSCT Diabetes Research Team – Recruit to Boehringer Ingelheim Trial: SYNCHRONIZE™ CVOT

Our Diabetes research team based at Antrim Area Hospital are on a recruitment roll. The team includes Ms Moyra McMaster and Ms Natalie Hanley led by NI’s only Primary Investigator  Dr Anna Strzelecka. They have recruited 3 patients within a month of opening. This is no easy task and shows the hard work and dedication of the NHSCT based research team.

SYNCHRONIZE™ CVOT  is a Phase 3, randomised, double-blind, parallel-group, event driven, cardiovascular safety study with BI 456906 administered subcutaneously compared with placebo in participants with overweight or obesity with established cardiovascular disease (CVD) or chronic kidney disease, and/or at least two weight related complications or risk factors for CVD.

The study is led by the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and Chief Investigator Dr Manish Saxena.
