NI Clinical Research Network Renal team – Break the daily randomisation record for the NightLife Study

Our Clinical Research Network team in Daisyhill Hospital are the first hospital in NI to take part and randomise/recruit dialysis patients to the Nightlife study.

The study aims to find out if Night-time dialysis improves quality of LIFE in patients with kidney disease. The study is led by Chief Investigator Professor James Burton, co-ordinated by Leicester CTU, sponsored by Leicester University and funded by NIHR.

The Southern HSCT is recruiting dialysis patients from the Renal unit at Daisyhill. The study team includes Clinical Research Network Renal clinical lead Dr Neal Morgan, Consultant Nephrologist, Clinical Research Network clinical research nurse, Teresa McKinley, former Clinical Research Network nurse and current Ward Manager Carolyn Hutchinson and SHSCT colleagues Fiona Owens, lead nurse for Nephrology and Judi Graham, Consultant Nephrologist.

The Renal study team at Daisyhill got off to an impressive start, setting a new randomisation record for the study randomising 13 patients on their first day.
