NICRN DIA team celebrate World Diabetes Day in the RVH foyer
December 2, 2025
As part of World Diabetes Day (WDD) 2025, the NICRN Diabetes Research team organised an educational stand at the Royal Victoria Hospital on Friday, November 14th.

The event saw a fantastic turnout, with strong support from colleagues, patients, and members of the public who visited the stand. Additionally, the team was accompanied by knowledgeable volunteers from Diabetes UK NI, who actively engaged with attendees. Furthermore, diabetes and endocrinology consultants Dr. Philip Johnston and Dr. Ian Wallace also visited the stand to interact with the public.

This year’s WDD theme centred on employees living with diabetes and their wellbeing. The aim is to ensure that staff have adequate access to care and support, enabling them to manage their diabetes effectively.
A huge thank you to the volunteers from the Diabetes UK NI team – Louise and Jackie. Both the public and staff greatly valued their insightful contributions regarding diabetes.
